This podcast with Dr. Joe Dispenza was spot on.

He just tells it like it is...

Most of us are stressed.

Stress is making us physically sick.

But we're addicted to the drama, the news, and the stories we tell ourselves.

And we are so scared to change those stories that we'd rather keep doing what we're doing even though we're sick, we're tired, and we're unfulfilled.

(Or we won't change until we hit rock bottom getting that debilitating diagnosis or getting in that near-fatal accident.)

The truth is... we have the ability to change our lives for the better starting NOW!

Our mind is extraordinary and the power of our mind is more effective than pharmaceuticals.

I 100% believe this and have experienced extraordinary healing through mindfulness practices (like meditation and yoga) and doing it in community.

So why are we so scared to change? What's stopping us from living a rich, purposeful life with less suffering?

This is really complicated question that Ming-Cee and I have discussed so many times.

Personally, in our own healing journeys, these are a few reasons we have been scared to change:

  • We've worked so hard to build our successful lives, we're scared to change the winning formula

  • We think we'll lose money, status, and respect, only to regret making the change

  • We're scared to be judged by our loved ones and community

  • We're scared that our partners, friends, and family won't like the "new" person we've become and will leave us

  • We're scared that WE won't like the new person we've become

Also, we're stressed and we're just so damn tired! We don't have the energy to change if things are going "fine" and our life is "good enough."

I've been there (and I'm still there sometimes) so that's why this podcast was the reminder I needed to keep showing up for myself in my ming+ming community and in my federal mindfulness community.

Mindfulness WORKS! It's not a pseudoscience. And I am also reminded that we're not meant to do this alone (and it's WAY more efficient and effective to heal as a community!)

I hope this podcast reinvigorates your commitment to change your life for the better as it did for me. Let me know what you think in the comments!

With love,

Ming-Wai
