We're dope in real life

Yes, we’re dope and no, we don’t need others to validate that for us… anymore.
As much as we don’t want to admit it, the “like” button on Facebook/Instagram was our measuring stick if we were doing things “right.” Being liked was a strong factor in decision-making and something we thought we outgrew long ago.
Yet, we were reminded that constantly making decisions based on other’s opinions or being liked was exactly what was distracting us from knowing how great we truly were in real life.
So how can you think you’re doing everything “right” to only find yourself completely lost?
What we discovered through our own personal growth journey is the key to enjoying our lives is actually LIVING our lives. And we realized we can’t DO us if we really don’t KNOW us.
The conditioning of making decisions based on other people’s approval ultimately detaches ourselves from who we are. Slowly but surely the pattern becomes a habit and we didn’t even know we’re doing it.
Gradually, as our feelings of insecurities grew and the world got noisy around us, we decided to take our own advice and take a social media break.
And holy shit, it’s incredible what happens when you can hear yourself again! We had no clue how much negativity was seeping through, even when we weren’t on the app.
In the beginning we thought of social media as a tool to enhance our business but we later realized that Instagram was actually using us, and before we knew it, we had become the tool. So we’ve decided to get off to invest more time in being our dope-ass selves instead of worrying about what everyone else thinks.
And since we believe there is strength in community and we still want to connect over our struggles, we plan to continue to tell our stories, just not on Instagram. So as of right now you can see personal photos through our ming+ming newsletters. Join the distro here!
And because we are so dope in real life, you can always connect with us through our online classes, workshops and upcoming in-person retreats!
Leave a comment if you’ve been thinking about taking a social media detox and if you’d want to join our support group to help rediscover how dope you are in real life.
We got you. You got you.
