We must let go of the notion that someone else has the ability to heal us. Instead of searching around for that perfect job, the right gym, that person to give you all the answers, that magic pill, we must trust that we are the only ones who can truly help ourselves.
This concept may be hard to believe but we really are the only ones who can find the answers we are searching for. The answers are within us, if we are brave enough to slow down and quiet the chatter so we can hear its whispers and encouragement.
There was a time not long ago when we too believed that the power to heal ourselves was in someone else's hands. We felt the confusion, conflict, frustration, and hopelessness when we were performing to other people’s standards without seeing the results we deeply desired.
We live complex and convoluted lives filled with personal stories, unique experiences and full of human emotions. It makes sense that the answers we are looking for would be complicated as well. One healing path will most likely be linked to another and that’s why we have tool bags, not just one tool. Because if you’re like us, working on our issues is like opening up a can of worms...and then another, and then another.
The professional advice from our doctors, the shared stories of our community, the great recommendations from loved ones are all fantastic tools to lean on. However, repeating exactly what someone else tells us to do doesn’t always work because we must discover how each tool works to serve our unique needs at a specific time. And that’s why we can only verify it’s working for us by pausing and going within.
We know that the ming+ming stories and tools will not always resonate with you. What we have created is a platform for you to discover what does and what doesn’t, by cherry picking what tool speaks to you. We record our classes so that you can use them at the time that is most convenient. We are all at different spots on our own healing journeys, peeling back layers, and working through different realms of mental, emotional and physical health. If it sounds complicated, it’s because it is.
Before we started our healing journeys, we had to let go of the idea that someone else had the power to heal us. It was a difficult concept to rewire, but it has made all the difference. We have to be the ones to control our decisions, and accept the blame for our missteps. This is the only way we can guarantee that we will pick ourselves back up and keep moving forward when we inevitably fall off the wagon.
Though we hold our own destiny in our hands, and we choose which path to take next, it doesn’t mean we need to walk this journey alone. You are part of the ming+ming community and although we are all at different stages of our journeys, we have some incredible stories to share to help us all move forward. We’d love to hear of tools that have worked (and not worked), and stories of battle wounds that have turned into invaluable lessons (please leave a comment below).
We don’t have the exact same struggles but we come together and connect over the fact that we all have struggles.
With love,
Ming-Wai + Ming-Cee
