documenting my stories

I use journals, notebooks, memo booklets, and my camera on my phone to document my struggles, how I’m feeling, or just to get something off my chest. I've been doing this for years and I have only started to go back and review what I’ve written and recorded. Mostly because I don’t think I’ve been ready to relive my most recent traumas, but also because the act of just expressing myself in a video or in a journal has been an effective tool in itself to allow me to release what’s inside and move on.

It is only now when I find myself reflecting back on stories I've recorded that I'm being reminded of where I’ve been. It puts a qualitative measure to all my hard work and drives me to keep going and keep growing.
