reflecting on family stories

Hearing the stories of my relatives’ past has given me a deeper understanding to why things happened the way they did. In a way, it’s allowed me to have empathy for decisions that I once didn’t understand or held resentment towards because I took them personally.

The deeper understanding allowed me to let go of parts of the past that I didn’t realize was keeping me stuck in a certain perspective. Going through old family photos helped spark my curiosity to understand my family history which opened up the possibility to start understanding myself better.
