When my mind is filled with noise I cannot focus on myself. I must filter through the noise to make sense of it in order for it to eventually go away, so I can create the space to hear myself so I can give myself what it is that I actually need. I keep a notebook and pen next to my bed and have a few extra laying around for random thoughts or small to-do lists.

I also use video journaling as a way to get thoughts out of my head quickly or when I’m trying to work through a difficult emotion or situation. Video journaling is also a tool I use to reflect on how far I’ve come and to remind myself the hard work is always worth it.
